Is it possible to include a covariate when running classifcation algorithm?

I am running an SVM classification model, but i also have a covariate that i want to include in the model that might introduce some bias. Any idea how to do that?
What i was thinking of doing, and not sure if it is correct, was to include the covariate with the features.
If this is not correct and there are other ideas, please let me know!
