Friedrich August Kekulé von Stradonitz (1829–1896) estis germana kemiisto kaj naturalisto, fondinto de la moderna teorio pri la strukturo de la organika kemio. En 1857, li kreis la Teorion pri la kvarvalenteco de la karbonatomo, kaj en 1865, li proponis la seslateran formulon de la Benzeno. Li estis profesoro pri kemio de la Universitato de Hajdelbergo, de la Universitato de Gento, en Belgio, kaj en 1867, li estis invitita labori en la Bonna Universitato, kie li restis ĝis la fino de sia kariero.
