Bayes Classifier

-1

$begingroup$

Consider a K-class problem. Suppose the classifier is allowed the option
to reject a pattern. This is implemented by having classifier output a
number between 1 and K + 1. When classifier outputs K + 1 it is
considered as rejecting the pattern. Consider a loss function as follows.
When the classifier outputs the correct class there is no loss. Suppose
classifier misclassifies (that is, the classifier outputs a number between
1 and K but it is the wrong class); then the loss is $rho$m. When classifier
rejects, that is, it outputs K + 1, the loss is $rho$r. For this loss function
what is the Bayes classifier.
